The Championship

A huge congratulations to GS, the new league champion! It was a remarkable season, setting a new record for only three losses all year.

Championship Game

It was a closely fought match. Greg got out to an early lead thanks to a massive 50 points from Ja’Marr Chase. But Joe closed the gap during the late Sunday games with Kyler Murry and Austin Ekeler leading the way. Heading into the Sunday night game Greg’s lead shrunk from 50 points to a mere 12. By the end of the Sunday night game Joe held a slim lead, 113.02 to 112.68 (just 0.34 points)! Both teams were left with just one player, Nick Chubb for Joe and Najee Harris for Greg. Chubb averaged 0.7 points less points per game this season, but Fantasy Sharks predicted a bigger game from Chubb. They were wrong. Cleveland struggled and Chubb’s 58 rushing yards was no match for Harris’ 188 and a touchdown. In the end Greg walked away with the championship 140 to 118, a fairly comfortable victory that I’m sure did not feel comfortable at all to the team.

The championship game MVP, Ja'Marr Chasee

But don’t think Greg was faultless. He started Antonio “I quit” Brown and benched DK Metcalf who had a career day. Brown blew up any remaining fantasy value he might have had, so he should no longer be considered a league winner. Sorry Greg, you have a lemon on your roster.

Third Place Game

The under card game included less drama. Wizard Of Oz led after early Sunday game and never trailed. The Wizards had a 17 point lead going into the Sunday night game and that was too much for Aaron Jones to overcome. AJ Dillon and his 21 points were on the bench though. Neither team had pieces in the Monday night game to add any last minute drama. In the end Wizard Of Oz defeated Jolly Roger 111-105 mostly on QB play, with Joe Burrow outscoring Patrick Mahomes 34-20. That was Jolly Roger’s second loss in a row, something that doesn’t happen very often.

Jolly Roger attempt for a fourth consecutive championship falls flat.
How I imagine Wizard Of OZ celebrating their victory.
