Wildcard Weekend Review

As always, Patrick Mahomes was a stud again in week 15. So much so that he did not even need to suit up for fantasy because his team had the bye week. He is the QB3 on the season is only slightly behind Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts. This week he is getting ready to lead Jolly Roger in another semi-final matchup hoping to get back to the big game. Good luck to him, and all of the other fantasy players this week!

GS vs. No-Bell Prizes

GS defeated No-Bell Prizes 114 to 110. This is the second time Greg and Mark have faced off in the playoffs with Mark getting the win back in 2020. Greg got off to a great start on Thursday evening due to Greg Kittle (and the Seahawks not being able to tackle a tight end). Jalen Hurts and the Eagles made it interesting, giving the No-Bell Prizes a slight lead going into the Sunday night game. Justin Herbert did just enough to give the lead back to Greg with only Allen Lazard left to play. Lazard fell flat though, unable to give the Prizes the five points they so desperately needed to get the win. Congratulations to Greg and his team.

Jason vs. Wizard Of Oz

Wizard Of Oz beat Jason 84 to 82 in the second playoff match this week. Both teams had a player put up zero points, Alec Pierce for Jason and Deebo Samuel (who was inactive) for Wizard Of Oz. In the end it was better QB play and Saquon Barkley having a big day, that made the difference for Wizard Of Oz. Congratulations to Joe and his team on the big win.

Match Previews

No-Bell Prizes vs. Jason

This one is for pride, and a slightly better draft position. The teams are 1-1 against each other this season. Jason won in week 1 and the Mark in week 8. Both teams are a bit beat up. Jason will be hoping that Deshaun Watson can play better than he has since his return from suspension and the No-Bell Prizes are hoping that Tua will find some of his mid-season magic again. Currently the No-Bell Prizes are listed as the favorites but that can change at any moment.

GS vs. Joe Dubya

In the first semi-final we have Greg, the reigning champion, facing off against Joe Dubya, the runner up from last year. Joe has had a dominate season, finishing 22-6, which Greg barely snuck into the playoffs, but saved some of his best weeks for the end of the season. Both teams also have reasons to be nervous. Joe must be watching the injury reports to see if Nick Chubb is ready to go. Missing him would be a huge blow for the team. And Greg is rolling with Justin Herbert who has not had a great season. Currently Joe is favored to win but a big Thursday night by Zonovan Knight will make him nervous.

Wizard Of Oz vs. Jolly Roger

These two teams played in the wildcard game way back in 2018 with Jolly Roger having a dominate victory then (140 to 74). Truthfully things do not look much better for Wizard Of Oz this time. Jonathan Taylor is injured and wide received Marquise Brown has a third string QB throwing the ball to him in Arizona. On the other side Jolly Roger has Patrick Mahomes and an in-form Christian McCaffrey. After missing the finals for the first time last season, Jolly Roger is looking to come storming back. MFL says they have a 90% probability of a win this week. They will be hoping it is correct.
