Week 5 Review

Another fun week of NFL action. I’m a big Seahawks fan so it’s actually kind of nice when I get to watch some football and not have to worry about if the Seahawks are going to win. But my team welcomes them back this week. Let’s go Lockett, time to get going!

Oh, and how about DJ Moore? I’d try to trade for him, but all of my offers have already been rejected.

Blunder of the Week

For the blunder of the week I typically try to pick a team that could have won if they made a better start/sit decision. This week most of the teams has a large spread. The winners scored 36 points more on average. So even though the Prizes won, they get the honor this week because of playing Aaron Jones in the RB slot for a Monday night game. This left them no room to pivot when he was ruled out. With slightly better management they might have scored above the median for that extra win. That’s three weeks in a row just a fraction too low. What a loser team.

Review

Jolly Roger vs Purdy Good

Jolly Roger kept on rolling with a 122-90 win over Purdy Good. Patrick Mahomes (QB6 so far this season) lost to Brock Purdy in the QB duel but that wasn’t enough for the Goods to get an upset win.

That’s What Cheesehead vs. Team JoePerm

Team JoePerm got back to winning with a 109-79 win over Adam’s team. Both teams started a Colt’s running back and Adam’s Zack Moss outscored Jonathan Taylor by 28. But zero catches on one target for Calvin Austin couldn’t compare to the eight receptions on nine targets for Tyreek Hill. From that point on it was easy for Joe’s team.

Joe Wojda vs. Flaccoroni & Cheese

Flaccoroni & Cheese improved to 6-4 this week with a 107-85 win over Joe Wodja. Neither team had much production at QB but TE1 Sam LaPorta out dueled Mark Andrews 18-9. Joe should be anxiously awaiting the return of star running back Austin Ekeler to try and kick start his season.

No-Bell Prizes vs. Team tccromp

Despite a zero from Aaron Jones the Prizes defeated TC 96-41. TC managed to start four players who did not register any points. This is a manager who trusts the process and should end up with a great asset like Marvin Harrison Jr in the draft. Mark will have to decide if he wants to stay in the flams with Logan Thomas or keep him on the bench for another week.

Puk Nukem vs. Team Louiewallis

Louie handed Puk Nukem their third loss in a row, 128-72. Puk scored more than 100 points each of the first two weeks, but has not hit that mark again since. Of course decisions are not easy when you need to choose between Ronnie Rivers and Jordan Mason to start at running back. Team Louiewallis does not have that problem with their RB duo of Mostert and Etienne each scoring in double digits this week.

Team gee17 vs. Team WhiteHartBobbyLayne

Team gee17 set the high score this week with 150 points, besting WhiteHartBobbyLayne’s 126. Euan will be kicking himself for starting Lamar Jackson over Derek Carr. If the team had set their optimal lineup that would have just squeezed by, but even that wouldn’t have mattered if Greg also set an optimal lineup. Some weeks you just come up against a buzz saw.
