Week 7 Review

Thanks to Jolly Roger for sending out a poll for the league to vote on making 2-point conversions count starting next season. In the end there were nine votes for the change and none against it. So starting next season 2-point conversions will be worth two points for rushing, receiving, and passing.

Blunder of the Week

The No-Bell Prizes get this one for starting DeeJay Dallas. Yes, he was a last minute fill in because of a trade, but he still scored negative points on the day. What was interesting about fumble that cost Dallas was it was on a punt return. Sleeper only has one setting for Fumble Lost and it does not care if it is on special teams or not.

Trade of the Week

There was only one trade this week, so it wins by default.

The No-Bell Prizes and Flaccoroni & Cheese completed a trade sending Kyren Williams to The Prizes and Jakobi Meyers, a ‘24 second, and a ‘24 third to Neeek. This trade almost caused some issues for the Prizes though, because it was completed after the line-up check on Sunday morning temporally leaving a spot in the line up (once filled by Jakobi Meyers) empty. Luckily it was filled before kick off. Unluckily it was filled by DeeJay Dallas and his -1.5 points.

Review

Puk Nukem vs. Jolly Roger

This was both the highest scoring game of the week with 286 combined points, and the closest, with Jolly Roger winning by just 7, 146-139. So both teams really showed out. This was despite Jolly Roger only getting 0.3 points from Bijan Robinson, who was not feeling well, and a pedestrian 4.6 points from Josh Jacobs. It is always nice to have an asset like Travis Kelce who can put up 29 points on any given week or Christian McCaffrey who can put up 20+ points on virtually every week.

No-Bell Prizes vs. That’s What Cheesehead

Despite the blunder with DeeJay Dallas, the No-Bell Prizes still managed to win 100-86. Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown combined for a total of 48 points, or 48% of the team total. It’s nice to have players that have high ceilings, but scary to rely so much on two players who are both on the Eagles. Their week 10 bye could be very painful for the Prizes. The Cheeseheads had their production spread around a bit more with four players breaking into double digits.

Team Louiewallis vs. Flaccoroni & Cheese

Flaccoroni & Cheese upset Louiewallis 128-82. Neeek got a break out performance from rookie Jordan Addison who had 7 receptions for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns for a total of 27 points. Newly acquired wide receiver Meyers also had a healthy contribution of 14 points. Louie, on the other hand, was let down by Raheem Mostert who had his second lowest score of the season. In the battle of Kansas City receivers Toney and Moore combined for 4.3 points, much less than the 15.9 put up just by Valdes-Scantling.

Team JoePerm vs. Team WhiteHartBobbyLayne

JoePerm beat WhiteHartBobbyLayne 124-81 despite comprehensively losing the QB battle. Goff’s 9 points were less than a third of the 33 scored by Lamar Jackson. But the rest of Joe’s team really showed up. Jonathan Taylor, Saquon Barkley, Tyreek Hill, Darren Waller, and James Cook all scored more than 17 points. That is a great team win.

Joe Wojda vs. Purdy Good

In a relatively close one, Purdy Good got past Joe Wojda 92-84. In a rare blunder Joe started Trayveon Williams who was on bye. This zero really hurt his team. Rookie wide receiver Jake Bobo was on the bench and scored 14 points - more than enough to change the outcome. On the other side the Purdy Goods lived up to their name, being pretty good but not great. All that is except Brock Purdy who only scored 12 points and was bad.

Team tccromp vs. Team gee17

TC did it again, starting three active players all who scored 0 points, and Ke’Shawn Vaughn who scored just 0.7 points. This gave Greg a fairly easy 94-32 win. Najee Harris, who has been so important to both of Greg’s titles in the last two seasons got into the end zone for the first time this season. Could he be heating up to help Team gee17 go for their third consecutive championship?
