Week 14 Review

It is the end of the regular season, so it is about time that a tight end got some love on the cover of the weekly review. Evan Engram had a huge week catching 11 passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Additionally he does not play for the 49ers like Deebo Samuel, who had an even more impressive week, but because of his team he gets no honors. Not here anyway!

As the dust settles on this week we know who the regular season scoring leader is - once again it is Jolly Roger. They are also the number one seed for the third time and once again set a high bar for excellence. But so did “The Good” division in general. All four teams made the playoffs despite playing each other twice.

Review

Team tccromp vs. Flaccoroni & Cheese

In one of the biggest surprises of the season, TC’s team did not go quiet into that good night, but instead put up a fight and trounced Flaccoroni & Cheese 95-46. For a team that had not registered a win all season, this one must have felt good. This may be setting the tone for the 2024 season.

ILoveMichaelKeatonMitchel vs. Jolly Roger

ILoveMichaelKeatonMitchel got the double against Jolly Roger this year winning 136-95. There other meeting came in week three when when Joe’s team won by three points. This time was a little bit more emphatic. This is also the only time all season that Jolly Roger has failed to get the bonus win and the only they have failed to break 100 points. Not a good omen heading into the playoffs. Of course they do have a bye week to help them figure things out. Jolly Roger can still get their revenge this season if the teams end up meeting in the playoffs.

Team gee17 vs. Joe Wojda

In one of the most dramatic games of the week Joe barely escaped with a win 90-76. This narrow victory was what it took to make it into the playoffs, edging out Louiewallis by just 8 points across the entire season. And this one came down to Monday night. Joe was having a dud of a week when all of a sudden DeAndre Hopkins and Derrick Henry came to his rescue. Their combined 39 points was enough to power past Greg and give their team the edge in points scored on the season. What a win!

No-Bell Prizes vs. Team WhiteHartBobbyLayne

The No-Bell Prizes got their act together holding White Hart Bobby Layne at bay 121-106. In this victory the running game really worked for them. Austin Ekeler put up 18 points, more than he had scored combined since joining the Prizes in week 11. Odell Beckham and Drake London also got into the game, both having their best results of the season. And it was a good thing other players stepped up because A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts had down weeks. WhiteHartBobbyLayne put up a good fight but was hurt when Justin Jefferson left hurt and a goose from Gabe Davis never helps.

Team Louiewallis vs. Purdy Good

In an effort to pile on the points to have a shot at the playoffs, Louiewallis beat Purdy Good 146-105. Just about everyone had a great week - even Quentin Johnston got into the double digits. Everyone except Rashod Bateman that is - he only scored 3.4 fantasy points. And with the well known rookie running back Chase Brown scoring 18 points on the bench. Those 18 points would have been enough leap frog Joe Wojda into the playoffs. So sitting Brown makes Louie the biggest loser this week.

Puk Nukem vs. That’s What Cheesehead

Puk Nukem saw off the Cheeseheads 118-52. This matchup had very little consequences for the playoff race, but it is always nice to get a victory and build up momentum before the playoffs. Adam’s team is already plotting what they are going to do with all of their draft picks. They have 9 picks in the upcoming draft include four first rounders. They are going to need to clear some space on their roster for the influx of talent to be joining them soon.

Playoff Preview

No-Bell Prizes vs. ILoveMichaelKeatonMitchel

The No-Bell Prizes beat ILoveMichaelKeatonMitchel in week 10, 146-100. This was their only meeting this season. Despite the head-to-head record the odds makers over at Sleeper are picking ILoveMichaelKeatonMitchel to win by two. The No-Bell Prizes will need Ekeler to have another big week while Joe’s team will be counting on Tyreek Hill to recover from the last game in time to play on Sunday. Davante Adams is also questionable with an illness for the Thursday night game. If he misses it could throw a monkey wrench into all of Joe’s plans.

Joe Wojda vs. Puk Nukem

These two teams have also played each other once this year with Puk Nukem beating Joe 106-82 back on week nine. Rachaad White led all players with 25 points, while Austin Ekeler was the top scorer for Joe with 20 points. Joe also leaned heavily on Keenan Allen that week but in the rematch will be without either Charger. That is why the odds makers are favoring Puk Nukem by 24. Joe will be leaning on his duo of Titans to get him to the next round while the Nukems expect big things from Michael Pittman and Courtland Sutton.

Power Rankings

These are the final power rankings of the season. Justin Herbert’s season ending injury cost Greg’s team a few spots, but they will still feel confident with Matt Stafford under center for the team.
