Week 15 Review

Davante Adams performance on Thursday night football set the stage for his team to dominate their playoff match, winning him the coveted spot at the top of the weekly review. His eight receptions were good for 101 yards and a touchdown leading to 20 fantasy points, his second highest this year.

Review

No-Bell Prizes vs. ILoveMichaelKeatonMitchel

Joe’s team came ready to play and easily handled the No-Bell Prizes 123-72. From the opening kickoff on Thursday night football where Davante Adams outscored Austin Ekeler 20-5 to Sunday afternoon when James Cook dismantled the Dallas Cowboys enroute to 35 fantasy points the final outcome was never really in doubt. Even a goose from Hollywood Brown did not slow a great week for ILoveMichaelKeatonMitchel. The one bad spot was that the team namesake Keaton Mitchel tore his ACL and is done for the year.

Joe Wojda vs. Puk Nukem

If the last game was a blowout then this one was a Nuking. Puk Nukem won 105-38. And that includes a -0.6 points from D’Onta Foreman. The running game was really the star in this matchup. For Nukem, Rachaad White and Jahmyr Gibbs both scored over 20 points. And so did Kyren Williams for Joe. In fact Williams scored 51% of all of Joe’s points! Joe went for the upside of playing Geno Smith on Monday Night against a soft Philadelphia defense. Unfortunately Smith was a late scratch and Joe had no where to pivot.

Preview

Jolly Roger vs. ILoveMichaelKeatonMitchel

In a rematch of week 14 Jolly Roger will take on ILoveMichaelKeatonMitchel. Joe and company have handed Jolly Roger two of their losses this season, so there is a strong desire for revenge. The early odds give Jolly Roger a 58% chance of winning this matchup. While the two team’s starters matchup reasonably well, Jolly Roger has the edge at flex with Diontae Johnson, Brandon Aiyuk, and Stefon Diggs predicted to outscore Tyreek Hill, Tyjae Speaers, and Isaiah Likely 32-29. Joe will hope that Josh Allen will take advantage of a soft Chargers defense and Jolly Roger will want to see the Falcons return to using Rijan Robinson as more than a bit player after scoring -0.1 points last week (thank goodness for bye weeks). Life time Jolly Roger is 8-3 in the postseason (including a 3rd place game loss in 2021) and ILoveMichaelKeatonMitchel/Wizard Of Oz is 5-4 (including last week’s win). Head to head in the playoffs ILoveMichaelKeatonMitchel leads the series 2-1.

Team gee17 vs. Puk Nukem

Greg is the two time reigning campion. Dan has never made the playoffs before. But Puk Nukem has been so dominate in the second half of this season that the odds makers give them a 53% chance of dispatching the champions. In a game to watch Greg’s QB Matthew Stafford will be throwing to the Dan’s talisman Puka Nacua. If Puka has a big day that could spell doom for Greg. Another matchup to keep an eye on is the Colt’s vs. Falcons. Greg has Jonathan Taylor set to go (far from a sure thing) and Dan has Michael Pittman. Good news for Greg is the the Falcons are who you want your running backs playing against. Bad news for Dan is that the Falcons tend to not give up many points against wide receivers. This could be key. Team gee17 won the only matchup between these teams this year.

No-Bell Prizes vs. Joe Wojda

Despite poor showings last week the No-Bell Prizes and Joe Wojda both need to suit up one more time this season to see who takes 5th place. This will help improve the draft stock of whoever wins. Neither teams owns their own 1st or 2nd round picks in 2024 anymore though, so any improvement will go to someone else. Currently the Prizes are given a 70% chance of winning, though those numbers have proven to be very suspect. Joe Wojda beat the Prizes in their only meeting this season back in week 11. This will be Austin Ekeler’s final chance (at least this year) to prove that his former team was wrong to trade him away.

Power Rankings

These are the final power rankings of the season. Justin Herbert’s season ending injury cost Greg’s team a few spots, but they will still feel confident with Matt Stafford under center for the team.
