Footclan & Friends Dynasty

Week 2, 2024

Super Kamario gets another touch in the game against the Cowboys on his way to the league leading 43 fantasy points. This was on 20 rushing attempts where he scored four total touchdowns. It was Alvin Kamara that got me into dynasty fantasy football in the first place. I picked him up before week 1 his rookie year in my main redraft league and he was an absolute stud for me that season. I was so sad that I didn’t get him again the next season and after that I signed up for this league. Even though I haven’t had Kamara on my roster since that rookie year I haven’t regretted playing dynasty.

Fantasy Heroes

I thought it would be fun to look at the top scoring players each week. At first I was afraid that it would be all quarterbacks but in the top five scorers this week, Kyler Murray was the only QB. Three of the five are running backs however, highlighting the importance of that roll. The other thing I noticed was that of these five top scorers, four of them helped their team win this week. The one outlier, James Cook, was on a team that also faced another top five scorer in De’Von Achane. So while having the boom potential on your roster can help, it isn’t sufficient on it’s own.

Blunder of the Week

When my team loses, like it did this week, it is almost always easiest to give the blunder of the week award to my own team, and that is exactly what I’m going to do here. Tight end is a always a tough position, but when a team’s TE1, T.J. Hockenon, is on the PUP list to start the season it can be even harder to figure out who to start. This week I gave the nod to Colby Parkinson who let me down with a measly 1.7 points while Mike Gesicki scored a solid 12.6 on the bench. Had I started Gesicki instead it would have been enough points to swing the match and leave my team undefeated.

Power rankings

Now for their long awaited return… the league power rankings are back. Scientifically guaranteed to not mean anything, they are still fun as you can cheer for your team to go up and curse at me when your team goes down despite a winning record. Even though I didn’t publish rankings for week one they were calculated so the change is from last week.
